Tasting Room Associate


As a Tasting Room Associate, you create an experience our guests remember. From the moment they arrive, you will provide an exceptional tasting experience either inside our cozy tasting room or on our outdoor wine patio. You will welcome and engage guests in a friendly and enthusiastic way while serving them our wine and light food.

  • Part-time position (up to 25 hours/week) beginning August.
  • Must have weekend and some weekday availability.
  • Previous wine experience required.


About Ridge Road Ridge

Road Estate Winery is a family owned and operated winery established in 2005. We are situated on a historical escarpment property that has been family owned since 1875. At Ridge Road we farm 60 acres of property producing 13 different varieties of Vinifera and Hybrid grapes. We provide quality wines in a casual environment with a focus on delivering an exceptional guest experience and ensuring excellence in customer service (our uniforms are flannel shirts rather than ties!).


Job Responsibilities

Tasting room duties include but are not limited to:

  • Providing elevated customer experiences through education on wines and winery history as well as tastings
  • Barkeeping duties: Pouring wine flights and wine by the glass during times of high volume
  • Assisting guests to select the best wine for their personal tastes 
  • Handling opening and closing procedures – including maintaining stock levels, merchandising, picking and packing online wine orders and maintaining a clean work environment
  • Occasionally serving special events at the winery
  • Accurate cash handling and operation of the POS system
  • Assisting with the promotion, set-up and tear-down of special onsite events


Job Requirements

We are looking for team members who are/have:

  • A passion for people, wine, food and fun!
  • Courteous, friendly, positive attitude
  • Detail oriented, ability to multitask and strong work ethic required – individually and as part of a team
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced and physical environment (we often clock 20,000 steps on a busy wine patio day)
  • A passion for customer service with a proven track record in hospitality and sales
  • Comfortable speaking and engaging with guests one-on-one
  • Enthusiastic to teach guests about all aspects of the wine making process, viticulture practices and the many unique styles of wine 
  • Able to lift 40lb cases of wine on a regular basis, stand for long periods of time and navigate stairs
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and some evenings throughout the season
  • Above the age of 18 and Smart Serve Certified
  • Access to personal transportation (there is no public transit up on the Ridge!) 
  • Post-secondary studies in Hospitality/Tourism or Wine Business/Business considered an asset
  • Experience with event management considered an asset
  • This position includes an hourly wage as well as gratuities
