Red Wines

2007 Baco Noir

$14.95

This big and meaty red is deep purple in colour and has rich dark fruit, leather and oak on the nose. Its youthful acidity is well balanced and allows the wine to be paired with many rich foods, including Osso Bucco, sausages, a nice big bowl of pasta or a juicy barbequed hamburger. Not only will this big red turn a hearty meal into a special occasion, it will also turn your tongue purple (but don't worry, it's not permanent!). This wine is wonderful now and benefits from decanting about 30 minutes before drinking. This one will also age for many years, so enjoy some now and cellar some for up to 5 years.

2007 Cabernet Franc

(Bronze Medal - Finger Lakes International Wine Competition)

$15.95

If you had to pick a red wine for any occasion, this would be it. Medium bodied with beautiful red fruit flavours. A slight oakiness and soft tannin finish round this wine off. This wine can be enjoyed with an array of foods, ranging from roasts and turkey, to gourmet pizza and hard, aged cheeses. This wine is great on its own, but even better with a friend.  Great now to 2015.

2009 Gamay

$15.95

The Gamay Noir grape is a close relative of Pinot Noir and does exceedingly well in our climate. We have chosen to express the grape in a heavier style, extracting the deeper, darker side. The nose is lively with smoky plum and dark black cherry which comes from aging in both French and American oak. The taste is dark black cherry and black current compote.

2008 Call me a cab

(Coming soon - To be released in August 2010)

This is a 50/50 blend of the two noble Cabernet brothers, Franc and Sauvignon. Each brings their personal best to the bottle with the Franc adding the fragrant aromatics and the Sauvignon contributing the dark fruit and silky tannins. We have chosen not to overly oak this blend so the fruit shines through (although it did spend a year in French oak barrels).

Rose Wines

2008 Rose

(Bronze Medal - Finger Lakes International Wine Competition)

$12.95

Made exclusively from cabernet grapes, this lovely cranberry coloured rose has aromas of strawberry and red pepper jelly. The off-dry finish is grounded by a clean backbone of acidity which makes this a refreshing and easy drinking wine. This wine will pair nicely with blush sauces, lamb, pork, turkey or even salmon.

Whites Wines

2009 Riesling

(Gold Medal - All Canadian Wine Competition)

$15.95

This slightly off-dry riesling is a blend of two clones; GM239 and Weiss 21. By blending the two clones you get the best aspects of each. From the GM239, you get the wonderful fruit with aromas of crisp fall apples, which follow through in your mouth. From the Weiss 21 clone, you get the crisp acidity and citrus aspects that make this wine so cleansing and a perfect match with seafood, creamy soups or a cheese fondue. This wine is outstanding now and will only get better with age.

2007 Unoaked Chardonnay

$14.95

Think Chablis, as this is not your typical oaked Chardonnay. This delicate wine has aromas of peach and a crisp but balanced acidity. This wine pairs well with a roast pork or creamy cheeses. It is also nice with a crusty bread dipped in our verjus dipping oil (see the recipe under "What's Verjus?"). This wine is great now and will gain complexity up to 5 years from now.

2009 Vidal

(Gold Medal - All Canadian Wine Competition)

$11.95

The grapes for this off-dry and crisp white wine were picked after the first freeze giving the wine some very interesting characteristics. When you first put your nose to the wine you get a distinct aroma of grapefruit followed by other more subtle citrus notes. The nose is true to the taste as the wine has abundant lime with crisp acidity that makes it great as a patio sipper on a hot day. This wine is an excellent accompaniment for Mexican or Thai food. Ready to be enjoyed now!

2008 Vineridge Blend

$12.95

Our signature blend of aromatic white grapes, this wine has aromas of grapefruit and rose petals. The flavours follow through with a refreshing and long finish that goes great with Asian, Indian or other spicy dishes. This wine is also perfect by itself...in any situation. You can age this one for a few years but we bet you won't be able to save any once you've tasted it.

2007 Bubbles (Sparkling Wine)

$14.95

For a special occasion, dinner party or intimate evening for two, this sparkling wine is easy drinking, with just the right amount of bubble. In Italy, Prosecco is a fun sparkling wine that can be enjoyed everyday and the same can be said of our Bubbles. No high-end prices here—it will change the way you think about sparkling wine.

Verjus

 Verjus

$12.95

Both our red and white verjus is made from pressed vinifera grapes that are not quite ready for making wine. The end result is a tart, yet sweet juice that is ideal as a culinary alternative to vinegars, lemon juice and even wine. Our white verjus is made exclusively from Riesling grapes and has hints of apple and lime. Our red is made largely from Cabernet grapes, with [a subtle] injection of Syrah and Pinor Noir. Visit the "What's Verjus?" section of our website for more information and our favourite verjus recipes.
