We are proud to say Ridge Road Estate Winery won twin gold medals at the All Canadian Wine Championships for our 2009 Riesling and 2009 Vidal. Coming Soon (August 2010)!! 2008 Call me a Cab - This is a 50/50 blend of the two noble Cabernet brothers, Franc and Sauvignon. Each brings their personal best to the bottle with the Franc adding the fragrant aromatics and the Sauvignon contributing the dark fruit and silky tannins. We have chosen not to overly oak this blend so the fruit shines through (although it did spend a year in French oak barrels). New Releases!! 2009 Riesling - This dry Riesling has tremendous aromas of tropical fruit and a beautiful, thirst-quenching finish. On it's introduction it won a Gold Medal at the All Canadian Wine Championships...100 cases made and it won't last long 2009 Vidal - Aromas of grapefruit and honey are followed by a mouth-watering off-dry finish. This wine also won a Gold Medal at the All Canadian Wine Championships. This one has been flying of the shelves and at $11.95 it won't last long. 2009 Gamay - Made in a "Pinot Style" this Gamay is a bigger example of what this grape can do in our climate. On the nose you will get deep rich berry fruit with a slight hint of French oak. This follows through in the mouth and delivers a very fruit forward style. Our tasting deck will be open as of Aug 1 (or when weather permits) where you will be able to sit and enjoy the surroundings as you sample our wines.
Our vineyards are located right on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment and adjacent to the Bruce Trail. This summer, plan to come to the winery and take a self guided tour of the vineyards, follow the paths to the edge of the Escarpment and experience the natural beauty of this unique location. We will provide you with a map and some of the rich history of this property. You will be amazed at what you can see on a clear day and you will get a renewed appreciation for the region.
